Become a Certified Green Professional
What is the Certified Green Professional designation?
The National Association of Home Builders’ Certified Green Professional™ designation recognizes builders, remodelers and other industry professionals who incorporate green building principles into homes— without driving up the cost of construction. Class work leading to the designation provides a solid background in green building methods, as well as the tools to reach consumers, from the organization leading the charge to provide market-driven green building solutions to the home building industry.
Cost
The three-day training* will be offered for ONLY
• Members (VT Residents) = $295 (normally $705)
• Non-members (VT Residents) = $595 (normally $1,108)**
• Members (non VT Residents) = $320 (normally $705)
• Non-members (non VT Residents) = $650 (normally $1,108)**
Dates & Locations (All classes are held 9 AM – 5 PM with breakfast & lunch provided)
Green Building for Building Professionals (2-day course) & Business Management (1 day course):
• November 8th - 10th at the HBRA office in Williston, VT
• December 12th - 14th at the HBRA office in Williston, VT

**Price includes the course fee and graduation / licensing requirement. Please note that annual renewal fees and continuing education requirements do apply in order to successfully maintain your certification.
Requirements – In order to successfully obtain your CGP
• Have a minimum of two years of building industry experience
• Submit a signed Certified Green Professional Code of Ethics
• Complete and return the graduation application

• Green Building for Building Professionals
• Business Management for Building Professionals OR Basics of Building OR hold an NAHB designation
• Annual Renewal Fees:
o $55 members
o $83 non-members
Continuing Education Requirement
To maintain your CGP designation you are required to complete twelve (12) hours of continuing education every three years from building industry related educational activities. A minimum of eight (8) hours is required to come from green building industry related educational activities.

Green Building for Building Professionals
Instructor: Rich Morin, Legacy Custom Homes
Implementing cost-effective green building into your construction practices begins with up-front planning that examines the whole house and the building science behind it. In this two-day course, you will learn how to apply the ANSI-approved National Green Building Standard™ in the construction of a new home, remodel, site development or multifamily project. With a focus on flexibility and a sound knowledge base, the course provides the tools for a successful green project.
Business Management for Building Professionals
Instructor: Mike Gervais, Prime Renovation Group or Rich Morin, Legacy Custom Homes
Learn the management skills that give industry leaders the edge. This course will give you a solid foundation in those best business practices so valuable to smaller businesses: planning, organizing, staffing/ directing and controlling. By using case studies and sample forms, your instructors give you practical and applicable tools for management success.
